Philippe Ramette (born in 1961) likes to defy the laws of gravity and logic. This sculptor, photographer and draftsman is the author of surrealist installations that put him in improbable and illogical postures. His installations capture the sculpture staged in a mix of tragedy and comedy that work as an enigma to solve. The artist performs acrobatic performances without special effects or digital retouch in order to show the absurd side of existence and to achieve exploits ordinarily impossible for man. His experiments use a learned device of harnesses and splints that he puts, from time to time, in light. His prostheses-sculptures allow to rise physically and to correct the way of considering the world and its representation.
